Mrs. Billie Fern Cook, age 70 of Adairsville, died Monday, August 6, 2012 at Calhoun Health Care following several years of declining health. She was born in Floyd County on January 11, 1942, daughter of the late Rev. Noah and Mattie Wofford Roberson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Everett Mitchell Cook in 1988; an infant son, Robin Tracy Cook; and five brothers and sisters, Linnie Mae Gentry, Faye Astins, Renee Roberson, Sydney Roberson, and Wayne Roberson.
Mrs. Cook was a hair dresser for 30 years. Her husband Everett operated a Union 76 station for 27 years in Adairsville.
The family would like to express thanks to United Hospice for their past 6 months care, and especially Blaine Purdy, Sharon Sisk, and Kathleen Custard.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Tina Cook of Calhoun; a daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Joe Peek of Adairsville; and grandchildren, Eden Seal, Anna Peek, Kayla Peek, Maddox Cook, Ashlyn Gilbert, and Kristen Gilbert.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Billie Fern Cook will be held Wednesday, August 8th at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Chaplain Dan Barton officiating. Honorary pallbearers will include caregivers of Calhoun Health Care and United Hospice.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm.
