Florine E. Walraven

Mrs. Florine Hall Walraven, age 87 of the Red Bud Community, died Friday March 6, 2015 at Gordon Hospital following five months declining health.

Mrs. Walraven was born on September 29, 1927, daughter of the late Amos and Julia Bowen Hall. She was employed by the Gordon County Board of Education prior to her retirement in 1997 as a Para-professional at Red Bud School. She was a Baptist and attended Mount Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Walraven in 1997; her son, Walter "Bossie" Walraven in 2011; two brothers, Lloyd "Boots" Hall and Gary "Buddy" Hall; and a sister, Eloise Hall.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Billy Weaver of Calhoun; daughter-in-law, Judy Walraven; Sherry Walraven, mother of her grandsons, Jason and Heath Walraven; grandchildren, Jason Walraven and his wife Brenda, Heath Walraven, Derek Weaver, Darlene Wright and her husband Burt, Wesley Brown and his wife Christy, and Marty Brown and his wife Amber. Sixteen great-grandchildren and a special friend, Nell Bearden, also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Florine Hall Walraven will be conducted Monday, March 9th at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Grandsons, Jason Walraven and Heath Walraven officiating. Interment will follow at Haven of Rest Memorial Park.

Pallbearers serving will include Jason Walraven, Heath Walraven, Derek Weaver, Burt Wright, Wesley Brown and Marty Brown. Honorary pallbearers will include her companions, Christy Freeman, Elizabeth Wiley, Kelly Craig, Janine Black, Tammy Barnett and Shae Jeffery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, March 9th between the hours of 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.

The family requests that flowers be omitted and contributions be made to the Gideons or Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 323 Mason Road, Calhoun, GA 30701.
