Floyd Elmer Caldwell

Mr. Floyd Elmer Caldwell, age 65 of Calhoun, passed away Thursday December 31, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Caldwell was born in Whitfield County on July 8, 1944, son of the late Elmer and Ethel Caldwell. He was a member of the Dalton Masonic Lodge, a member of the Dalton Shrine, and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving as a SP4 from 1966 until 1968.

He was preceded in death by a son, Floyd Anthony "Tater" Caldwell; two brothers, Mack Caldwell and David Caldwell; and by two sisters, Naomi Cochran and Dorothy Gladden.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Williams Caldwell; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Marlene Burchett, Mark and Rachael Burchett, Clyde and Mandy Burchett all of Calhoun. Randy and Beth Groves of Chatsworth, James Caldwell of New Mexico, and David Caldwell of Chattanooga; daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah and David James, Lora and Johnny Shaw, Tammy and Jim Stevenson all of Calhoun, and Belinda Caldwell of Dalton; a sister, Fannie Bell and Dan Baker of Dalton; eighteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mr. Floyd Elmer Caldwell will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Junior Craig officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday after 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Georgia National Cemetery near Canton, GA with military honors.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
