Obituary
Frances Irene (Hayes) Bray, age 76, of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at her residence.
Frances was born on March 9, 1944, in Whitfield County, GA to the late William Oscar Hayes Sr. and Mattie Elizabeth (Jones) Hayes of Dalton. In addition to her parents, Frances was also preceded in death by her late husband of 49 years, Eulon Andrew Bray. Her son, Timothy Wayne Bray Sr. Two infant daughters Debra Ann and Donna Sue Bray. Brothers, Jess, John Earl, Floyd Runyan, Charles Athey, William Oscar Hayes Jr of Dalton. Sisters, Helen Faw, Katherine Armstrong of Dalton, and sister Pearlie Hayes of Michigan.
Frances was a member of Assembly of Faith Church of Dews Pond, Pastor was the late Alvin Suggs. Frances was retired from Gordon County Hospital where she was a faithful dedicated employee for many years. She loved her family, friends, and community.
Frances is survived by her sons Steve Bray (Donna) of Resaca and Greg Bray of Calhoun; daughters Lynn Highfield (Joe), Kim Walraven (Danny) of Resaca; daughter-in-law Linda Bray of Plainville; 12 grandchildren, Lee Andrew Bray of Dalton, Christian Wells (Kenneth) of Murray Co, Matthew, Jonathan, Nathan Bray of Resaca, Seth Highfield of Resaca, Evan Lingerfelt (Cody) of Calhoun, Timothy Bray Jr of Plainville, Zack and Zeak Walraven of Resaca, Scotty Bray (Amber) of Resaca, Ryan Bray (Amanda) of Cartersville; ;20 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Jerry and Richard Hayes of Dalton; sister, Barbra Bray (Charles) of Fairmount; several nieces and nephews; childhood and life long friend Lorriane Stanly of Dalton.
The family will receive family and friends on Friday, September 18, 2020, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Stacy Hensley along with eulogies Ryan and Andrew Bray. Burial will be at Assembly of Faith Cemetery at Dews Pond, With Stacy Hensley doing the graveside rites.
