Mrs. Frances Pauline Williams, age 84 of Calhoun, passed away Monday, June 29, 2009 at Gordon Health Care Center following an extended illness.
Mrs. Williams was born on June 8, 1925 in Piedmont, Alabama, daughter of the late Tom Roye, Sr. and Myrtle Green Roye. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, George Henry Williams and two sisters, Bessie Roye and Lula Gowens. She was a member of the East Gate Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Billy Carpenter and his wife Elizabeth of Rydal; a sister, Maureen Grizzle of Calhoun; a brother, Tom Roye, Jr. of Calhoun; three grandchildren, Kathy Eaker, Tammie Hall and Teresa Hodgkins; and five great-grandchildren, Joseph Eaker, Adrianna Adcock, Chess Hall, Drew Hodgkins and Ava Hodgkins. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Pauline Williams will be conducted Thursday at 1:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Clinton Green and Rev. Bobby Green officiating. Pallbearers serving will include Allen Blalock, Jeff Grizzle, Lane Tow, Larry Roye, Jacob Tow, and Sammy Grizzle. Interment will follow the service at the Haven of Rest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Wednesday after 5:00pm.
