Mrs. Frances Pearl Burchett of Calhoun passed away at her residence Wednesday, July 15, 2009 following several months of illness. She was 88 years of age.
Mrs. Burchett was born on August 7, 1920 in Gordon County, daughter of the late George W. Bagwell and Frances White Bagwell. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Boyd Burchett, and a son, Melvin Burchett, Sr. During her lifetime, she retired from O'Jay Mills and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Mrs. Burchett is survived by two daughters, Ruby Parker and Marie Burchett, both of Calhoun; six grandchildren, Melvin Burchett, Jr., Joann Morris, Lori Baker, Sandy Cameron, Melanie Melville, and Amanda Trammell; twelve great-grandchildren, Dillon Burchett, Robert, Russell, and Raven Melville, Shawn and Daie Trammell, Deon and Taylor Sams, Carrie and Jaclyn Adcock, and Jessica and Charles Waters; and a great-great grandchild, Kaiden Adcock.
Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Pearl Burchett will be conducted Saturday at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Woody Lee and Rev. Neil Smith officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Gordon Memorial Gardens, with Rev. William Roberts conducting the graveside service. Active pallbearers serving will include Melvin Burchett, Jr., Dillon Burchett, Russell Melville, Dennis Melville, Taylor Sams and Deon Sams. Honorary pallbearers will include Claude Baker, Steven Stanley, Jeff Cameron and Brad Baker. The family will begin receiving friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Friday after 10:30am.
