Fred Hill

Mr. Fred Hill Jr. age 75 of Calhoun passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2011 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in Gadsden, AL on May 3, 1936, Son of the late Fred Hill and Esther Hill. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean Turner Hill and by four brothers, Melvin, Ellis, Elbert, and Leon, and a sister Minnie Bellew. Prior to ill health Mr. Hill was employed by Coronet Industries as a twister operator and had lived in Gordon County the greater part of his life and was a member of House of Prayer Church.

Mr. Hill is survived by two daughters; Patricia Hill Flippen of Ranger and Melba Hill Young of Calhoun, two sons; Buddy Hill and Tim Hill of Calhoun, five grandchildren; Allan Hill, David Hill, Chip Nix, Crista Kelley, Teresa Lackey, Hane Hill and Rin Hill, five great-grandchildren; Connie Brown, Corey Fowler, Zachary Hill, Ashley Hill and Keighean Hill, four brothers; Eddie Hill and his wife Anita, Cleo Hill and his wife Nell and Hoyt Hill and his wife Joyce all of Rainbow City, Alabama and Vester Hill and his wife Vennie of Gadsden, Alabama along with nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mr. Fred Hill Jr. will be conducted Friday January 27th at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev(s) Andrew Campbell and Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Chip Nix, Alan Hill, David Hill, Korey Allen, Jason Boggs and Ricky Caldwell. Honorary pallbearers serving include Tommy Hill, Zachary Hill and Zane Hill.

The Hill family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons after 6:00 PM Wednesday.
