Fred Worley

Mr. Fred Walter Worley, age 73 of Calhoun, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Gordon County, son of the late Earl and Mamie Clark Worley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Roach Worley in 2004; a brother, Felix Worley; and two sisters, Zeta Worley Crews and Grace Worley Couch.

Fred was a retired truck driver for Yellow Freight. He was a veteran, serving his country in the US Navy from 1957 through 1963.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen Walter and Melissa Worley, and Stuart Lee and Allison Worley; a daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Maurice Jones, all of Calhoun; two sisters, Geraldine Epps of Atlanta, and Vera Worley Gilmore of Calhoun; grandchildren, Adrienne Worley, Brooke Jones, Kayla Bell, and Lacey Bell; and the special family of the late Delores Thames Worley.

Funeral services for Mr. Fred Walter Worley will be held Wednesday, March 27th at 11:00am from the Heritage Baptist Church, with Rev. Eddie Brannon and Rev. Brent Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Lynn Denson, Mike Chamblee, Millard Payne, Shaun Samples, Sean Proctor, and Mike Crews. Honorary pallbearers are Troy Carver, Joseph Horsley, Caleb Horsley, Aaron Horsley, Johnathon Horsley, Joshua Horsley, Justin Horsley, Nelson Dowdy, Mike Horsley, and Tim Horsley. These gentlemen are requested to assemble at the church Wednesday at 10:30am.

The Worley family will receive friends at Heritage Baptist Church on Curtis Parkway Tuesday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
