Mrs. Gail Ghorley, age 57 of Sugar Valley, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009. She was born in Gordon County on April 26, 1952, daughter of the late James Garfield Cook and Ruby Garmon Floyd. Mrs. Ghorley had been employed in the carpet industry with Niche Rugs, and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Jim Cook; and two sisters, Betty Jackson and Annette Strickland.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence Ghorley, Sr.; a son, Clarence Ghorley, Jr. of Sugar Valley; two daughters, April Brunni of Calhoun, and Angel Adair of Dalton; and two sisters, Sandra Patterson of Calhoun, and Joan Craig of Adairsville. Grandchildren surviving are David Burns, Jasmine Stone, Daniel Ghorley, Russell Brunni, Shawn Adair, and Heather and Corey Ghorley. Great grandchildren, Brayden Ghorley, Madison Stone, Khole Ghorley, Kaynan Burns and Skylar Burns; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Memorial services for Mrs. Gail Ghorley will be conducted Saturday at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Lamar Patton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday after 6:00pm.
