Gail Lee Young

Mrs. Gail Lee Young, age 66 of Plainville, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Redmond Regional Medical Center following two years of declining health.

Mrs. Young was born on May 19, 1944 in Bartow County, daughter of the late Albert and Gertrude Elizabeth Vaughn Lee. She enjoyed preparing meals for her family, loving to work in her vegetable garden and flowers, and one of her special hobbies was bird watching. She was retired from Shaw Industries.

Survivors include her husband, Clyde Young to whom she was married for eighteen years; two daughters, Jill Neal and her husband Jack of White, and Ginger Scott and her husband James of Cartersville; a stepson, Ranal E. Young and his wife Cathy of Calhoun; three sisters, Shirley Tatum and her husband Billy, Mary McCollum and her husband Ed, all of Cartersville, and Charlotte Ruch and her husband Max of Hernando, Mississippi; and a brother, Ron Lee and his wife Mary of Cartersville. Eight grandchildren, Ashley Scott, Kaleigh Scott, Alex Neal, Andrew Neal, Katie Neal, Kristin Neal, Ethan Young and Erin Young; nephews, Eddie McCollum and his wife Randa, Jason Dodd and his wife Pam, and Doug Tatum and his wife Jane; and nieces; Deanna Chastain and her husband Wayne, and Dawn Kirkland and her husband Randall also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gail Lee Young will be conducted Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry D. Foster and Rev. Marvin Jackson officiating. Music will be arranged by Kristin Neal and Bill and Joan Creel. Active pallbearers serving will be Eddie McCollum, Jason Dodd, Doug Tatum, Wayne Chastain, Alex Neal and Andrew Neal. Honorary escort will be the members of Plainville Lodge # 364 F & AM. Internment will follow the service at the Franklin Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Friday from 7:00pm until 9:00pm.
