Obituary

Garry Hyde, 68, of Resaca, GA, died Friday, February 2, 2018 at Redmond Regional Medical Center. He was born in Gordon County on December 3, 1949, son of the late George "Smack" Hyde and the late Gladys Stanley Hyde.
Garry had retired from Beaulieu of America after 42 years. Along with his brother, he enjoyed working on the farm. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He was a veteran, serving his country in the US Army from May, 1969, until April, 1975.
He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Jan Poarch Hyde; his son, Tony Hyde of Resaca; his daughter and son-in-law, Carmen and Steven Massengill of Calhoun; brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Shelia Hyde, and Lamar "Mott" and Esmi Hyde; a sister, Sue Davis; grandchildren, Brodie Massengill and Brynn Massengill; a special nephew, J.B. Ipac; and other relatives and friends.
There will be a gathering of friends and family on Tuesday, February 6th from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests donations of teddy bears to an organization that comforts children. Bears may be brought to the funeral home. Donations may be made on the funeral home website, and will be used to purchase teddy bears.
