Gary Waylon Mulkey, 64 of Calhoun, died Wednesday, September 27, 2017 after several years of declining health. He was born in Bartow County on June 10, 1953, son of the late Fred Mulkey and Betty Schoenauer.
He previously worked at Fafnir Bearing and Shaw Industries. He was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Debbie Mulkey of Calhoun; a son, Shaun Mulkey and his wife Daisy of Calhoun; a daughter, Staci Piedlow and her husband Dan of Adairsville; and a brother, Mickey Mulkey of Jacksonville, FL.
The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, September 30th at 1:00 p.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church. Pastor Wesley Hunt will officiate. Burial will follow at Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers serving are David Long, Travis Spires, Kenny Ray, Mike Fowler, Darriel Anderson, and Tim Stennett. Honorary pallbearers are the Mens Sunday School Class of Bethesda Baptist Church.
The Mulkey family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 29th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
