Mr. Marion Eugene Farrell, age 75 of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in Tilton, Georgia on August 28, 1935, son of the late Marion Edward Farrell and the late Rosetta Ray Farrell. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant son; a son-in-law, Mark Cooper; a brother, Charles Farrell; two sisters, Betty Farrell and Virginia Davis; and two brothers-in-law, Howard Davis and W.F. Chastain.

During his lifetime, Mr. Farrell had been employed with Calhoun Pool Supply as a pool builder. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Nina Jane Moore Farrell; five sons, Randall Farrell, Eddie Farrell, David Farrell and his wife Darlene, Rodney Farrell and his wife Dawn, and Eric Farrell, all of Calhoun; a daughter, Rachel Cooper of Calhoun; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Irene Farrell of Hill City, and Leon and Louise Farrell of Calhoun; and a sister, Callie Ruth Chastain of Calhoun. Eleven grandchildren surviving are Shaun Farrell, Joey Farrell, Casey Farrell, Jacqie Farrell, Jonathon Cooper, Leah Cooper, Ashley Farrell, Colin Farrell, Shana McMahan, Ashley Ledford, and Dakota Ledford. Nine great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Marion Eugene Farrell will be conducted 11:00a.m. Saturday from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Ken Waddell and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Chandler Cemetery. Active pallbearers are grandsons and nephews and will include Jonathon Cooper, Joey Farrell, Casey Farrell, Douglas Chastain, Tony Farrell, and John Farrell. Alternate pallbearers are Frank Chastain, Coley Brookshire, and Courtney Gaines. Honorary escort will be remaining grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Friday after 5:00p.m.
