Gerald Bruce Edens

Mr. Gerald Bruce Edens, age 73 of Dryden, Virginia passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 in Calhoun. He was prececed in death by his parents, Elmer and Georgia Parsons Edens; and two sisters, Lucille Barker and Frances Oaks.

Gerald was a lifelong resident of Dryden, a graduate of Dryden High School, and had worked for many years as a Med Tech with Lee General Hospital. He later retired from the new Lee Regional Hospital. He was a member of the Pennington Gap First Baptist Church, and a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include two sons, Shawn Edens and his wife Melissa of Calhoun, and Eric Edens of West Virginia; a sister, Charlotte Collins and her husband Jack of Jonesville, VA; a brother, Larry Edens of Jonesville; five grandchildren, Calli, Chloe, Bruce, Ethan, and Cody; and a special and dear friend, Jane Turner Myers of Pennington Gap, VA.

Funeral services for Mr. Gerald Bruce Edens will be held Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 7:00pm from the chapel of Sturgill Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA, with Rev. Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. Interment will be held Friday at 11:00am in the Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, VA.

The Edens family will receive friends at the Sturgill Funeral Home Thursday from 5:00pm until the funeral hour of 7:00pm.
