Gerald Randy Butts

Mr. Gerald Randy Butts, age 53 of Sugar Valley, and formerly of Milledgeville, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2010 at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Butts was born on June 10, 1957 in Baldwin County, Georgia, son of the late Robert Lee Butts and Cora Lee Todd Butts. During his lifetime he was associated with the El Paso Natural Gas Company.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Kay Avant Butts, to whom he was married for 32 years; three daughters, Shanna Butts of Calhoun, Stacey Slaughter and her husband Jody of Calhoun, and Stephanie Butts of Blairsville; a sister, Virginia Baxter of Milledgeville; two brothers, Gary Butts of Washington, GA, and Danny Butts of Milledgeville: and three grandchildren, Tyler Randall Butts, Jacob Richard Slaughter and Allison Reece Slaughter. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Gerald Randy Butts will be conducted Sunday, September 26, 2010 at 2:00pm from the Deepstep United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Peavy and Rev. Larry Giles officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Baldwin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Friday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm, and Saturday at the Williams Funeral Home in Milledgeville from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
