Gerard (Gerry) Molineaux, age 84, of Adairsville, passed away July 1, 2024. Gerard was born in June 1940 in Boston, Massachusetts, to Joseph F. Molineaux and Kathryn M. Molineaux. Straight out of high school, Gerard joined the United States Navy in 1958 and soon met his bride, Sandra L. Corner. They were stationed at numerous bases in the North and welcomed their firstborn, Gerard Jr. Shortly after, the family moved south, where their daughter, Tracie, was born.
Gerard gave twenty-two years to the US Navy and enjoyed every moment. He retired as a Parachute Rigger Chief and, up to 2023, was a regular attendee of the PRC reunion in Pensacola, Florida. After his retirement, Gerard did a few years in sales but missed the Navy and returned as a civilian for another twenty years at the Liquid Oxygen Farm. When Gerard wasn't working, he enjoyed staying busy. This would consist of woodworking, yard work, boating, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his son, Gerard Jr. (Theresa), and daughter, Tracie. He was known as Ampy to his grandchildren, Stephen, Casie (Colyn), Kelci (Brandon), and Kaitlin. He also had the honor of being a great-grandfather to Kamdon, Lily, Walker, AJ, and Blakely.
There will be a gathering of friends and family held on Monday, July 8, 2024, from 5-8 pm at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home. The service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, July 9th, from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home. The military service will be at Georgia National Cemetery (Canton) on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 1:30 pm.
The family wishes to celebrate Gerard's life and asks that you wear his favorite color, red. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wounded Warriors.
