Gina Nell Manning, 57 of Cleveland, TN, formerly of Calhoun, died Monday, January 16, 2017 at Mount Berry Hospice in Rome, GA. She was born in Floyd County, GA on January 26, 1959, daughter of the late Rev. David Julian and Jimmie Nell Pratt Manning. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Manning, in 2016.
Gina was a 1976 graduate of Calhoun High School, and attended Dalton State College, the University of West Georgia, and Lee College. She was a graduate of Norvell Hayes Bible College, and a 2014 graduate of Kennesaw State University. She loved to read, and had a passion for teaching others to read, volunteering as a teacher at libraries in Dalton, Chattanooga, and Cleveland. Prior to her illness, she was employed with Amazon.
Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, David and Meredith Manning of Plano, TX; her sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia and Randall Fox of Woodstock; a special niece, Lindsey Holt of Calhoun; other nieces and nephews; and several special great-nieces and close friends.
Services to honor the life of Gina Nell Manning will be held Thursday, January 19th at 2:00 PM from Calhoun Community Church, with Rev. Eddie Brannon and Pastor Jerry Rice officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Crane Eater Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday, January 19th from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
