Mrs. Gladys Dulaney Chandler age 86 of Calhoun passed away Monday December 11, 2006 at Calhoun Health Care Center. She was born in Jackson, Alabama on March 10, 1920 daughter of the late Jake and Emma Morgan Dulaney. She was a member of Eastgate Baptist Church and was a retired textile worker.
Mrs. Chandler was preceded in death by her husband John H. Chandler in Sept. of 1972 and by a grandson Michael "Smokey" Woodring in Feb. of 2006.
Survivors include a daughter Linda Wilson Layson. Three grandsons Todd, Don and Brian Woodring. Great-grandchildren; Tiffany Woodring Brooks, Danielle Woodring, Jude Woodring and Keagan Woodring all of Calhoun. Two brothers; Chester Hoven of Jackson, Alabama and Earl Hoven of Meridian, Miss. and one sister Ester Maxwell of Jackson, Alabama also survives.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Gladys Dulaney Chandler will be conducted Wednesday December 13, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Ernest Channell officiating. Music will be arranged by the New Hope Singers. Interment will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Barney Darley, Grover Channell, William Channell, Timmy Mulkey and William Daniel Sr. These gentlemen are asked to be at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m.
