Obituary

Mrs. Gladys Dette (Walraven) Gossage, 86, of Calhoun, died Friday morning at Morning Pointe Assisted Living in Calhoun after several months of declining health.
Mrs. Gossage was born in Murray County, Georgia on July 28, 1934, daughter of the late Tom and Angie Hayes Walraven. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Gossage Sr. in 2000; and by two sisters; Willie Mae Hooker and Betty Childers, seven brothers; J.T., Carl, Fred, Herschel, Tommy, Brian, and Willard Walraven. Gladys was employed by Gordon Health Care prior to retirement.
Survivors include; three daughters; Carlece (Tom) Young of Huntsville, Alabama, Wanda (Larry) Morrison of Calhoun, Georgia, Jovanna Vanderheiden of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, one son; Joe (Joel) Gossage Jr. of Chattanooga, TN., grandchildren; Katie Vanderheiden, Josh Garnett, Steven Young, Joe (Joey) Gossage III, Amber Lee, Stephanie Morrison, Bryan Allen, great-grandchildren; Kayleigh, Grant, Pressley, and Greer Garnett, Anzley and Traden Gossage, Greer Garnett, Aspen, Aavyn and Asher Lee, Samuel and Madeline Morrison, Noah, Callie, and Brianna Allen and one great, great-grandchild; Lilly Dutton.
A private graveside service for the family will be held Sunday, August 23, 2020, at 10:00 AM at Fain cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include; Asher Lee, Bryan Allen, Noah Allen, Joe Gossage III, Steven Young, and Josh Garnett.
The family would like to thank Heart Hospice and Morning Pointe Assisted Living in Calhoun for their compassion and care.
