Gladys Lance

December 20, 1926 — April 18, 2008

Ms. Gladys Lance, age 81 of Resaca, passed away Friday, April 18, 2008 at her residence. She was a life long resident of Gordon County, born on December 20, 1926, daughter of the late Fayte and Rosa Lee Allen Lance. During her lifetime, Mrs. Lance was self employed as a seamstress, and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, McRae Lance.

Survivors include three brothers; Henry Lance of Dalton, Albert Lance and his wife Bonnie of Dalton, and Frank Lance and his wife Faye of Resaca; a sister, Velma Joe Stancill of Resaca; nephews, Grady and Gary Lance, both of Dalton; nieces, Melba Sisson, Gail Stokes, and Janet Abernathy, all of Calhoun, Linda Oxford and Teresa Lake, both of Dalton, Karen Bartenfield and Letitia Sosebee, both of Resaca, and Cristy Ponder of Ranger.

Funeral services for Ms. Gladys Lance will be conducted Sunday, April 20, at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Jimmie Timms, Rev. Harold Blackstock, and Rev. Sammy Allen officiating. Interment will follow in the Corinth Baptist Church cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Grady Lance, Gary Lance, John Oxford, Kenneth Sisson, Alan Sosebee, and Melvin Lake. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home Sunday at 1:15pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
