Glenda Ann Payne Newman, of Calhoun, died on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Gordon Hospital following several months of declining health. Glenda was born in Fannin County on May 27, 1944; she was the daughter of the late Jess and Hester Payne. Glenda attended College Street Church of God.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, HA Newman; her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Oscar Derrick; her sons and daughter-in-law, Tony and Rita Newman, David Newman, and Scott Newman; her grandchildren, Derek, Chase, Hannah, Zachary, Easton, and Emily; her brother and sister-in-law, Jess and Gena Payne; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Pauline and Robert Dilbeck, Jewel Hunter, and Teresa and Melvin Dills; her great-grandchildren, Kelson, Elle, and Zaylen; her special friends, Georgia Bradley and Jeanette; many other relatives and friends.
The Newman family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral on Saturday, February 25th from 4:00 until 8:00 pm.
The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, February, 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Pastor Dewayne Smith will officiate. Pastor Roy Smith will have charge of the music. Burial will be on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery near Morganton, Georgia. Pallbearers are Easton Derrick, Zachary Newman, Derek Newman, Chase Newman, Duston Priest, and Robert Vineyard.
