Mr. Glenn Cartee, age 44 of Rome, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010 at his residence following two months of declining health. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama on April 2, 1966, son of Clistia Faye Parker Cartee and the late Kenneth Glenn Cartee. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Grady and Jessie Parker.
Glenn was a 1985 graduate of Coosa High School, and was an avid fisherman. He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church near Sonoraville.
Survivors include his mother, Clistia Faye Parker Cartee of Rome; a sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Jimmy Womack of Casper, Wyoming; his step-mother, Elizabeth Cartee; three half-sisters, Christie Cartee of Texas, JoLynn Hamage and her husband Ricky, and Donna Masters and her husband Neil, all of Melrose, Florida; an aunt, Bobbie Mattos of Calhoun, and a niece and nephew, Kassie and Christopher Womack. Other nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Glenn Cartee will be conducted Thursday, May 6th at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Chaplain Alan Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery near Sonoraville, with Rev. Eddie Brannon conducting the committal service. Active pallbearers will include Billy Don Brooks, Shawn Brooks, Gordon Hamage, and Christopher Womack.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
