Glenn Wesley Bryant

Mr. Glenn Wesley Bryant, age 77 of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Gordon County on December 28, 1933, son of the late Ezra "Emo" and Irene Evans Bryant. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ray Bryant, Leroy Bryant, and Bobby Bryant; and two sisters, Mozelle Ferguson and Maxine Bryant.

Mr. Bryant served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War, and was a member of the American Legion Post 47 of Calhoun. He was employed with Meadowbrook Dairy early in his career, and later had worked in the textile industry.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Lorita Roberts Bryant; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Kim Bryant of Calhoun, and Scotty and Tammy Bryant of Resaca; a step-son, Kevin Allen and his wife Brenda of Calhoun; a sister, Emma Jean Allen of Calhoun; and grandchildren, Hanna Smith and her husband Jonathan, Brice Bryant, Bo Bryant, Shaun Smith and his wife Jenny, Brandon Allen and his wife Liza, and a step-granddaughter, Keena Proffitt. Five great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and his many friends of the America Legion also survive. Other survivors are in-laws, Farris Defore, Autry and Betty Roberts, Doug and Marsha Bodenhamer, and Doris Roberts.

Funeral services for Mr. Glenn Wesley Bryant will be held Friday, September 16th at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Dennis Jarvis and Rev, Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery with military honors. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and include Jonathan Smith, Brice Bryant, Bo Bryant, Shaun Smith, and Brandon Allen.

The Bryant family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Thursday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm.
