Gordon Lee Pasley

Mr. Gordon Lee Pasley, age 73 of the Union Grove Community, Calhoun, died Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Gordon Hospital following several weeks of declining health. He was a native of Gordon County, born on May 18, 1940 to the late G.W. and Bernice Smith Pasley.

Gordon was a retired truck driver, and a veteran, serving his country in the US Army during the Vietnam era. He received numerous medals and citations, including the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Campaign Star, and the Combat Infantry Badge.

He leaves behind two sons, Barry Jerome Pasley and Jeffrey Dewayne Pasley, both of Calhoun; a daughter, Tammy Denise Pasley of Calhoun; two brothers, James Pasley, and Steve Pasley and his wife Rose, all of Adairsville; and a sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Clyde McEntyre of Calhoun. Grandchildren are Christopher Hough, Kristen Johnston, Lauren Pasley, Brooke Pasley, Tyler Tomlinson, Breanna Hough, Jaden Pasley, Morgan Pasley, Maleigha Pasley, Austin Pasley, and Raven Pasley. Ten great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Gordon Lee Pasley will be held Sunday, March 30th at 3:00 PM from Union Grove Baptist Church, with Clyde McEntyre, Shane Parrott, and Mike Bunch officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Mickey Pasley, James Pasley, Tyler Tomlinson, Austin Pasley, Jonathon Lovins, Steve Pasley, Christopher Hough, and Bucky Hough. Honorary pallbearers are Buddy Bunch, Bobby Bunch, Donald King, Mark Bunch, and Robert Smith.

The Pasley family will receive friends Saturday at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
