Mr. Grady Lee Lingerfelt, age 69 of Adairsville, GA, passed away Monday, January 16, 2012 at Gordon Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Lumpkin County on August 24, 1942, son of the late Mark and Roberta Ryder Lingerfelt, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by five brothers, Garland Lingerfelt, Hoyt Lingerfelt, Mark Lingerfelt, Jr., Edward Lingerfelt, and Claude Lingerfelt; and five sisters, Maudell Anderson, Annie Mae Blanton, Bessie Tinch, Lilly Lackey, and Lois Smith.
Grady loved to work outside and work in his garden. He was employed with the City of Calhoun in various positions for 38 years.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Anna Belle Arp Lingerfelt of the residence; two sons, Jeff Lingerfelt and his wife Karen, and Ronnie Lingerfelt, all of Adairsville; and four grandchildren, Heather (Tim) Defoor, Cody (Molly) Lingerfelt, Tyler Lingerfelt, and Jordan Lingerfelt; and great-grandchildren, Annslee and Avrie Defoor, and Grayson Lingerfelt. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Grady Lee Lingerfelt will be held Thursday, January 19th at 2:00pm from the Eastgate Baptist Church, with Rev. Kenny Rogers and Rev. J. Clinton Green officiating. Interment will follow in the Eastview Cemetery in Adairsville. Active pallbearers will include James Anderson, Johnny Anderson, Mike Lackey, Mike Stamey, Lamar Tinch, and Ezra Washington. These gentlemen are requested to assemble at the funeral home Thursday at 1:15pm.
The Lingerfelt family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday after 5:00pm.
