Gregg Hammonds

Mr. Henry Gregg Hammonds, age 37 of Calhoun, died suddenly Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Floyd County on August 15, 1974, son of Henry and Faye Lancaster Hammonds, and was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Ruby Lancaster and Henry John and Lola Mae Hammonds.

Gregg was employed by Auto Zone of Calhoun as Assistant Manager. He graduated from Coosa Valley Tech in 1995 with a major in Auto Mechanics and a minor in Auto Parts Specialist.

Survivors include a son, Garrett Hammonds of Resaca; parents, Henry and Faye Hammonds; a sister, Misty Fortenberry of Calhoun; a niece, Emily Fortenberry; and a special aunt, Sandra Haygood. Aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Henry Gregg Hammonds will be held Saturday, December 17th at 2:00pm from the Adairsville Christian Church, with Minister Danny Pelfrey officiating. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will include Craig Long, Stacy Garland, John D. Hooker, Chad Haygood, Jason Haygood, and Jerry Sollinger. Associates of Auto Zone will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Friday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
