Grover Lewis Dinsmore

Mr. Grover Lewis Dinsmore, age 89 of Calhoun, passed away Monday, January 17, 2011 at Gordon Health Care Center following a brief illness.

He was born on February 18, 1921 in Copperhill, Tennessee, son of the late Louis Carr Dinsmore and Florence Ann Catherine Morrell Dinsmore. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Stella Cochran Dinsmore, to whom he was married for 53 years; his second wife, Otence Rogers Dinsmore, to whom he was married for 11 years; a son, Stephen Dinsmore in 1982; sisters, Lucille Hix, Edith White, and Gwendola Goble; and brothers, Earl Dinsmore and David Dinsmore.

During his lifetime he served his country with the United States Army during World War II, and retired from Echota Cotton Mills as Maintenance Manager with 42 years service.

Mr. Dinsmore is survived by a daughter, Linda Bennett and her husband R.F. of Sugar Valley; a son, Tom Rogers and his wife Nancy of Bentonville, Arkansas; a sister, Mae Dinsmore Fowler Wehunt of Calhoun; a brother, W.J. Robinson of Charleston, SC; grandchildren; Amy Dinsmore, Rose Elizabeth Dinsmore, David A. Dinsmore, Jason P. Dinsmore, Fletcher and Breanna Morris; and a daughter-in-law, Georgia Dinsmore Stakehouse. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Grover Lewis Dinsmore will be conducted Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 2:00pm from the Echota Baptist Church, with Brother Lamar Hand officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Chandler Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday after 5:00pm.
