Harbin Lamar Davis

Mr. Harbin Lamar Davis, age 80 of Calhoun, GA passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011 at his residence following several months of declining health. He was born in Gordon County on August 28, 1931, son of the late Benjamin and Willie Harris Davis. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Maurice Davis.

Mr. Davis was retired from Richardson Cleaners, and was a member of the Belmont Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Charlotte Hix Davis of the home; two daughters, Sheri Gilbert and her husband Mike of Moreno Valley, CA, and Donna McElvan of Cartersville, GA; a brother, Howard Davis of Calhoun; and a sister and brother-in-law, Norma and J.B. Rickett of Calhoun. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Harbin Lamar Davis will be held Wednesday, August 31st at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Winfred Casey and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Music will be arranged by Marcy Bullard. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery with Dr. Steven Pearson conducting the graveside rites. Active pallbearers will include Bob Hegwood, Glen Garner, Bob Bullard, Larry Gilbert, Allen Davis, and Barry Rickett.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday after 6:00pm.
