Harold Wallace Herrington

Mr. Harold Wallace Herrington, age 72 of Calhoun, Georgia; passed away Friday, January 14, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Rome, Georgia following several years of declining health.

Mr. Herrington was born in Fulton County, Georgia on February 6, 1937; son of the late Henry Rogers Herrington and Iva Allene Johnson Herrington. Prior to moving to Gordon County; he and his wife, Becky lived in Bowling Green, Kentucky and he lived the greater part of his life in Marietta, Georgia. He was retired following a career with Howard Paper Company and Blanchard Lumber Company of Marietta, Georgia. He was a veteran of the United States Army; a member of the American Legion and was of the Christian faith.

Mr. Herrington was preceded in death by one sister, Janet H. Jones of Andrews, N.C. and by one brother, Calvin R. Herrington of McDonah, Georgia.

Surviving is his wife, Becky McLeod Herrington of Calhoun, Georgia to whom he was married for 41 years and by one sister, Brenda H. Platt of East Point, Georgia. A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Harold Wallace Herrington will be conducted Monday, January 17, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Robin Harrison officiating.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Monday one hour preceding the funeral hour.

In lieu of flowers; contributions may be made to the Salvation Army in his memory.
