Mr. Harry Gene Bailey, age 60 of Calhoun, passed away Friday, March 19, 2010 at Erlanger Medical Center. He was born in Eldorado, Arkansas on February 16, 1950, son of the late Dolphus and Nannie Jane Bishop Bailey. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Sim Bailey and Earl Bailey.
Mr. Bailey was employed as a Bridge Carpenter by Simpson Bridge Company of Charleston, Tennessee. He was a veteran, having served his country in the United States Navy.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Patricia Ann Dutton Bailey; two sons, Harry Gene Bailey, Jr. and his wife Tammy of Zebulon, North Carolina, and Greg Alexander Bailey of Calhoun; a daughter, Kari Rebekah Wang and her husband Damiao of Shenyang, China; a twin brother, Harold Dean Bailey of Plain Dealing, Louisiana; three sisters, Martha Gray of Bernice, Louisiana, Mary Jane Lindsey of Longview, Texas, and Alta Fay Caldwell of Haynesville, Louisiana; and two grandchildren, Katie Bailey and Rori Bailey. Nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Harry Gene Bailey will be conducted Tuesday, March 23rd at 3:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Ron Carver and Rev. David Chandler officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens, with Dr. James Shope officiating. Active pallbearers will include Sean Samples, Zach Edwards, Justin Edwards, Andrew McEntyre, David Padgett, and Lee Dutton. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Simpson, Ron Hill, Steven Bevelhymer, Terry Teasley, George Howard, Bart Chandler, and David Chandler.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Monday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
