Mr. H.C. Sexton, 77 of Adairsville, died Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at his home. He was born in Isom, KY on February 14, 1939, son of the late Lundy and Lucille Sexton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, J.M. Sexton, L.D. Sexton, and Billie James Sexton.
Mr. Sexton was retired from Calhoun Contractors. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ollie Mae Amburgey Sexton; sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene and Millie Sexton of Dalton, and H.C. and Neva Sexton, Jr. of Marshall, NC; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Glynn Thompson of Calhoun; sisters, Elouise Mullins of Scottsville, Louise Morgan of Plainville, Bernice Covington of Calhoun, Linda Hilley of Calhoun, and Mary Rose Herrerd of Calhoun; and brothers-in-law, Leon Covington and Kenneth Hilley. Also surviving are grandchildren, Michael Hunter, Desiree Nicole Torok, Heather Hunter, Matthew Sexton, Sarah Reinert, Nicole Land, and Melanie Poe; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Services to honor the life of Mr. H.C. Sexton will be held Friday, March 4th at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. George Gray and Chaplain Luke Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in the Sexton Family Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Greg Banks, Michael Hunter, Stevie Jackson, Eric Ledbetter, Rocky Evans, and Troy Smith. Honorary pallbearers are H.C. Sexton, Jr., Eugene Sexton, and Greg Thompson.
The Sexton family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 3rd from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
