Helen Bohannon Campbell

Mrs. Helen Bohannon Campbell, age 83 of the Pleasant Hill Community, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Hamilton Medical Center. Mr. Campbell was born on January 25, 1925, daughter of the late William Grady and Myrtie Mae Curtis Bohannon. She was retired from the United States Postal Service. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she served as pianist for over forty-five years and was a member of the Clara Moss Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Hillhouse Garden Club, the Gideon's Auxiliary, the Sequoyah Eastern Star and the Gadabout of Georgia Bank and Trust.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Fred Campbell and a daughter, Pamela Jane Campbell. Two brothers, Ralph Bohannon and Guy Bohannon, and a sister, Shirley Ralston also preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sisters; Vera Moss and Lorene Padgett of Calhoun; sisters-in-law; Emily Thompson and her husband Johnny Mac, Odessa Nelson, and Christine Wallace, all of Calhoun, and Kathleen Bohannon of Stockbridge, GA, and a brother-in-law, Frank Campbell and his wife Glenese of Calhoun. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Helen Bohannon Campbell will be conducted Sunday, February 3, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. from the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Barry Brock and Rev. Winfred Casey officiating. Interment will follow in the Campbell Cemetery at Pleasant Hill. Active pallbearers serving will include Gary Ralston, Michael Bohannon, Danny Bohannon, Bobby Gray, Don Cochran, Pete Cochran, Johnny Thompson and Jeffery Campbell. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Honorary pallbearers will be Members of the Clara Moss Sunday School Class, and they may meet at the church Sunday at 3:45 p.m. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Women on Missions.
