Herbert Chester Woodall, Sr

Mr. Herbert Chester Woodall, Sr., 87 of Resaca, GA died Friday, July 1, 2016 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in Cherokee County, GA on March 18, 1929, son of the late Chester Lee and Leah Gramlin Woodall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Marie Patton Woodall.

Mr. Woodall was retired from Southern Wholesale, and was a member of New Zion Hill Baptist Church. He was a veteran, serving his country in the US Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Mertice Brock Woodall; his sons and daughters-in-law, Herbert Jr. and Cindy Woodall of Fairmount, and Michael and Pam Woodall of Resaca; a step-son, Donald Tuck of Dalton; step-daughter, Donna Henderson and her husband Mark of Dalton; a sister and brother-in-law, Dot and Bud Pasley of Calhoun; grandchildren, Jason Alan Woodall, Brandon Michael Woodall, Jennifer Ashley Woodall, Kalia Brooke Cassels, Amy, Courtney, and Lindsey Swafford, and Daniel and Tyler Tuck; and great-grandchildren, Mason, Audrey, Josslynn, Michael, Kassidy, and Lauren Woodall, Lillie, Emily, and Kenzlie Cassels, Jordan Nance, Jasper and Amberly Lawless, and Austin and Jasi Tuck. Nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Services to honor the life of Mr. Herbert Chester Woodall, Sr. will be held Monday, July 4th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Tim Cheatham and Rev. Duane Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Resaca, with military honors. Pallbearers will include Henry Nance and Morgan Cassels.

The Woodall family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, July 3rd from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
