Herbert Henson

Mr. Herbert Henson, age 83 of Fairmount, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Gordon Health Care following several years of declining health. He was born in Bartow County on February 7, 1927, son of the late Dewey and Delia Jenkins Henson. During his lifetime, Mr. Henson enjoyed farming, and was a retired logger. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Terry Henson, and a brother, Bobby Henson.

Survivors include his former wife, Katherine Henson; a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Shelia Henson of Calhoun; two daughters, Shelia Henson Davis and her husband Raymond of Cherry Log, and Lisa Henson Moorehead of Fairmount; five brothers, James Henson and his wife Joan, D.L. Henson and his wife Bobbi, and Harvey Henson and his wife Janie, all of Ranger, Billy Henson and his wife Judy, and Dale Henson and his former wife Sharon, both of Calhoun; and four sisters and brothers-in-law, Kay and Larry Quinn of Calhoun, Mae and Wilford Howington, and Shirley Howington, both of Chattanooga, and Rachel and Grady Goble of Calhoun. Four grandsons, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Herbert Henson will be conducted Tuesday, March 16th at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Deron Henson officiating. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers serving include Shaun Moorehead, Zackary Moorehead, Dusty Henson, Jim Bradford, Jacob Phipps, Craig Henson, and Keith Henson. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral 10:15a.m. Tuesday.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Monday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Online condolences may be expressed and the guestbook signed at www.maxbrannonandsons.com.
