Herbert Randall Mulkey

Mr. Herbert Randall Mulkey, age 50 of the Sonoraville Community, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at his residence following several months of illness.

Mr. Mulkey was born on September 1, 1958 in Gordon County, son of the late Herbert and Mildred Long Mulkey. During his lifetime he was employed with the Dixie Group in Eton.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Faye Pack Mulkey, to whom he was married for 32 years; two sons, Kevin Mulkey of Ranger, and Gregory Mulkey of Fairmount; three sisters, Darlene Johnson of Adairsville, Betty Mulkey and her husband Stevie of Eton, and Samantha Peardon of Dalton; three brothers, Steve Mulkey and his wife Bonnie of Cartersville, Robert Peardon and his wife Becky of Blue Ridge, and Buddy Peardon and his wife Wanda of Talking Rock. Four grandchildren, Makayla Mulkey, Delilah Mulkey, Nathaniel Mulkey and Savannah Mulkey; a step-grandson, Harley Jackson, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Herbert Randall Mulkey will be conducted Friday at 1:00pm from the Freedom House of Worship, with Rev. Jimmie Timms and Brother Richard Pack officiating. Music will be arranged by the Traveling by Faith Singers. Pallbearers serving will include Christopher Pack, Edward Silvers, Mark Flowers, Lamar Peardon, Douglas Mulkey, Josh Kelley and Brian Flood. Interment will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery near Ranger. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Thursday, during the hours of 5:00pm and 9:00pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to help with payment of medical expenses.
