Hobert Hightower

Mr. Hobert Hightower, age 89 of Plainville, GA died Saturday, January 14, 2017 at his home. He was born in Pickens County, GA on June 22, 1927, son of the late Vernon and Mary Elizabeth Moore Hightower. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Hubert Hightower, Herbert Hightower, and Hollis Hightower; and sisters, Onnie Mae Lee, Ruthell Cooper, Gladys Langston, Eulavee Thomas, Leona Nix, and Lidie Nix.
Mr. Hightower was a veteran, serving his country in the US Army during WWII.
He leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Cordella Floy Welchel Hightower; his sons and daughter-in-law, Randall Hightower, and Kenneth and Barbara Hightower, all of Plainville; his daughters and son-in-law, Vivian and Gary Ralston of Calhoun, and Helen Henson of Plainville; grandchildren, Nathan Garland, Justin (Nina) Garland, Crystal (Tim) Cooney, Matthew Hightower, Kacey (Brian) Wilson, Lucas (Angelica) Ralston, and Lacie Ralston; great-grandchildren, Kenly, Kadien, and Kaleb Garland, Everly and Allie Cooney, Ronnie Jones, Keith Jones, and Donald Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services to honor the life of Mr. Hobert Hightower will be held Tuesday, January 17th at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Danny Hightower and Rev. Terry Reisner officiating. Music will be arranged by the Randolph Family. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery with Military Honors. Pallbearers serving will include Nathan Garland, Justin Garland, Matthew Hightower, Lucas Ralston, Brian Wilson, and Thomas York.
The Hightower family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 16th from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM.
