Hugh Elbert Jackson, Jr

Mr. Hugh Elbert Jackson, Jr., 76 of Calhoun, died Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Erlanger Medical Center. He was born in Bartow County on March 17, 1939, son of the late Hugh and Lela Mae Padgett Jackson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Lamar Davis, Jerry Davis, Johnny Davis, and Elmer Stone; and sisters-in-law, Faye Addy, Betty Lou Davis, and Kathleen Jackson.

Hugh was employed with Ace Hardware for 30 years. He was Pastor of Cornerstone Full Gospel Church.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Nina Davis Jackson; two sons and daughter-in-law, Elbert Jackson III and Heidi, and Jeff "Whitey" Davis; three daughters, Crystal Davis, Tonia Lynn Nixon and her husband Mike, and Susie Grizzle, all of Calhoun; a brother, John Jackson of Calhoun; grandchildren, Brittany Nixon, Michael Nixon III, and Lane Bailey; and adopted grandchildren, Owen Davis, C.J. Hawkins, and Jazzmin Davis. Other survivors include brothers-in-law, Ray and Carol Davis, John Addy, L.C. and Odessa Davis, and Junior and Thelma Davis; sisters-in-law, Joyce Kirby and Ricky, Norma Stone, Frances Davis, Helen Davis, and Hilda Davis, all of Calhoun; and nieces and nephews, Michelle Cleary, Stephanie Jackson Mann, and Jeffery Jackson. Additional nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Services to honor the life of Mr. Hugh Elbert Jackson, Jr. will be held Wednesday, April 1st at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Ministers Eddie Brannon, Ray Davis, and Harold Crump officiating. Music will be arranged by Mike Nixon and Susie Grizzle. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park, with Bro. Jerry Gaddis officiating. Active pallbearers will include Brian Davis, Jeff Davis, Greg Davis, Darrell Grizzle, Lamar Thomas, Jeff Jackson, Jerome Crump, and Daniel Monteith. Honorary pallbearers are Nathan Renner, Michael Stone, Lee Mathis, Jimmy Dutton, Dale Bailey, Fain Hall, Heath Smith, and Josh Davis.

The Jackson family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
