Hugh Fulton Hagen

d. January 4, 2013

Rev. Hugh Fulton Hagen, 26, former pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in Calhoun, went to meet his Lord and Savior on January 4th, 2013.

Rev. Hugh Fulton Hagen was a spiritual shepherd and community leader. He was a servant who touched the lives of everyone he encountered. His infectious smile and giving spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. To the hungry, he offered food. To the sick, he offered company. To the lost, he offered guidance. ""If you were to define 'pastor,' he would fit that definition,"" said many of those who knew him. "He spent his life serving others." Rev Hagen often proclaimed "God has sealed in our hearts a call to reach people in tangible ways and reach REAL people with the REAL Gospel."

Rev. Hagen became a leader of Christian groups at the age of sixteen. In the summer of 2004 he served as a youth Intern at The First Baptist Church of Douglasville, Ga. He preached at various churches in the United Methodist, Southern Baptist and Independent Baptist churches. He was a member of the College Ministry Leadership Team at Berry College. He served as part of the Billy Graham Crusade in New York City for the summer of 2005. As Pastoral Intern at Mt. Berry Church in Rome, Ga., Rev. Hagen assisted in the re-visioning of the church and transition to a new way of sharing Christ on the campus of Berry College. He was ordained on April 30, 2007 as a Southern Baptist Minister.

Rev. Hagen graduated from Berry College in Rome, Ga. with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He completed his Masters of Divinity from Columbia International University. He was pursuing a Doctrine of Theology from Southeastern Baptist Theological University in Kentucky at the time of his death.
