Inez Williams Stewart

Mrs. Inez Williams Stewart, age 91 of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2009 following several months of declining health. She was born in Gordon County on November 29, 1917, daughter of the late Frank and Belle Bunch Williams. Mrs. Williams was retired from Georgia Tufters, and was a member of the Oothcalooga Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ed Stewart; two sons, Bobby Stewart in 1999, and Max Stewart in 2009; three brothers, J.B. Williams, Herman Williams, and Warren Williams; and two sisters, Ruth Williams and Thelma Williams.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Sally Stewart of Old Fort, Tennessee; a daughter-in-law, Wanda Stewart; a cousin, Henrietta Smith; a niece, Dorothy Stanley; and a sister-in-law, Elise Stewart. Seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Inez Williams Stewart will be conducted Thursday, October 8th at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Hibberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Gaines Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Michael Stewart, Mark Stewart, Neal Stewart, Kenneth Williams, Charley Stanley, and Hal Williams. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home Thursday at 1:15pm.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
