J. C. Buttrum

Mr. J.C. Buttrum, age 90 of Fairmount, died Friday, July 27, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Buttrum was born on November 12, 1922 in Gordon County, son of the late Will and Eller Hyatt Buttrum. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a son, J.R. Buttrum, and a sister, Beatrice Reynolds. He was a retired employee of the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Survivors include his wife, Nola Christine Hensley Buttrum, to whom he was married for 51 years; a daughter, Ruth Hyde and her husband Bobby of Calhoun; two sons, Billy Jack Hensley and his wife Patsy of Calhoun, and Kirk Buttrum of Acworth; and a sister, Willie Sue Bell of Fairmount. Seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. J.C. Buttrum will be conducted Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Pallbearers serving will include Shane Cox, Matthew Adams, Ricky Luffman and Terry Hensley. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Hyde and Tim Griffin. Interment will follow the service in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park.

The Buttrum family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Saturday during the hours of 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm.
