J. D. Freeman

Mr. J.D. (Jay) Freeman, age 85 of Adairsville, passed away Monday, March 10, 2008 at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Freeman was born on May 19, 1922 in Gordon County, son of the late Maynard Clark Freeman and Ora Elizabeth Gallman Freeman. He was preceded in death by sisters; Hazel White, Claudia Boring, and Vera Mae Allen; twin brother, B.W. Freeman; and grandchildren, Jessica Eloise Yates and Gary Nathanial Yates.

Mr. Freeman is survived by his wife, Eloise Lancaster Freeman, to whom he had been married for 48 years on March 5th; one daughter, Patricia Rakestraw and her husband Ray of Adairsville; one son, Anthony Freeman of Adairsville; one sister, Aileen Smith Sisson of Rockledge, Florida; and grandchildren, Raechelle and Nathaniel Rakestraw

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday between the hours of 5:00pm and 9:00pm. Funeral services for Mr. J.D. (Jay) Freeman will be conducted Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Jimmie Timms officiating. Minister Phil McPherson will conduct the committal service at Eastview Cemetery in Adairsville. Pallbearers serving will include Barry Troglin, Mike Freeman, Ricky Freeman, Johnny White, Robert White, and James Allen.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home for funeral expenses.
