J. Randall Childers

Randall Childers, 60, of the Fairmount Community, died at his home on Friday, November 13, 2015 following a brief illness.
Randall was born on October 24, 1955 in Gordon County. He was the son of the late Charles A. and Ruth Lomax Childers. Along with his parents, his brother, Lamar Childers, preceded him in death. He attended Fairmount High School. Prior to his retirement, he was a supervisor with Mohawk Industries. Randall loved hunting, horses, and, along with his family, watching for shooting stars.
Survivors are his wife, Carmen Lambert Childers; his son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Tawny Nguyen; his daughters, Lisa Childers and Amanda Butler, Joanna Gregory and her husband, Jeremy, and Lai Nguyen; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed Childers, Ralph and Mamie Childers, Doug and Shelia Childers, Clint and Vera Childers, Keith and Joyce Childers, Mark Childers, and Reed and Denise Childers; his sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Gary Henson; his grandchildren, Brent Nguyen, Carson Nguyen, and Tiffani Stone; his great-grandson Kyran Stone; his many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
To honor his wishes, Randall's body was cremated. His family will gather on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Olive Baptist Church. Friends are invited to join the family for this celebration of Randall's life. Please bring a covered dish for the fellowship meal.
