Jack D. Massingill

Mr. Jack D. Massingill, age 80 of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Gordon Hospital following several years of declining health. He was born in Shannon, GA on July 21, 1927, son of the late Arthur and Eula Earwood Massingill. Mr. Massingill was retired from Southern Equipment Company, and was a member of Local 85 Sheet Metal Fabrication. He served his country in the US Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Agnes M. Massingill; a son, Jack J. Massingill of Calhoun; a brother, Edward Massingill, and a sister, Betty Jean Smith, both of Griffin, GA.

Funeral services for Mr. Jack D. Massingill will be conducted Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 1:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Randy Gulledge officiating. Interment will follow in the Hayes Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Dusty Brown, Chris Garland, Eli Nations, Avery Nations, Sam Ball, and Terry Nations. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home Saturday at 12:15pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
