Jack Netherland Holland

Mr. Jack Netherland Holland, age 62 of Calhoun, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2008 at Floyd Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born in Hamilton County, Tennessee on March 27, 1946, son of the late Roy and Dorothy Moore Holland. During his lifetime, Mr. Holland had worked in the textile industry and was a veteran, having served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam. He was a member of East Calhoun Church of God.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, James Donald Holland, and a sister, Irene Bramblett.

Survivors include six brothers: Roy Holland, Jr. and his wife Reba of Calhoun, John Holland of Columbus, GA, Earl Holland and his wife Clare of Dalton, Vernon Holland and his wife Faye of Calhoun, Douglas Holland and his wife Liz of Ranger, and David Holland of Calhoun; and six sisters, Beulah Stanley, Shirley Odom and her husband Charles, Eva Lyles and her husband Roy, Bonnie Oliver and her husband Sammy, Carol Thomas and her husband Lynn, and Sara Lau and her husband Mike, all of Calhoun. A special nephew, Danny Stanley, and cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Jack Netherland Holland will be conducted Tuesday, October 21 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Pastor Keith Reid and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Richard Holland, Raymond Holland, Phillip Holland, Travis Lyles, Jason Lyles, and Randy Holland. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home Tuesday at 1:00pm. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Patton and Michael Bramblett. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday after 5:00pm.
