Obituary
Mr. William "Jack" White, 71, of the Oostanaula Community, died Saturday, February 20, 2021, at AdventHealth Gordon.
Jack was born on December 23, 1949, in Cartersville, Georgia, son of Willie Shields White and the late, William Boyd White. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his don and daughter-in-law, Jim and Angela White. He lived all his life in Calhoun, Georgia but enjoyed camping and traveling nation-wide and around the world. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandsons. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by American Linc as a salesman and he was a member of the 1968 graduating class of Calhoun High School.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Burns White to whom he was married for 53 years, two daughters, Wendi White Murphy and her husband Joel, Lisa White Traylor; grandchildren, Harrison Murphy, Hayden (Caitlin) Murphy, Jim Traylor and Ben Traylor; mother, Willie Shields White, sister, Letha Nesbitt and her husband, Major General (Ret) Terry Nesbitt; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service for William "Jack" White will be conducted Tuesday, February 23, at 1:00 PM from Oostanaula Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Butler officiating. The family will receive friends at the church between the hours of 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM.
The White family, along with the staff of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home remind anyone in attendance to keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the C.D.C. as it pertains to social gatherings including social distancing, gathering limits, and face masks.
