Obituary

Mr. Jackie Clay Woody, 74 of the Red Bud community died Saturday, November 7, 2020 at his residence following several years of declining health.
Clay was born on November 2, 1946, son of the late Robert Coy Woody and Odem Landrum Woody. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter; Tammy Burchett, two grandchildren; Jamie Burns and Molly Jones and a great-granddaughter; Savannah.
Clay loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed the simple things in life, especially fishing. You could always find Clay at Carters Lake, fishing weekly Pot tournaments and winning more than his share.
Survivors include his wife; Linda Gay Woody to whom he was married for 48 years, one daughter; Lea Kinney, three sons and daughters-in-law; Marty and Kim Jones, Robert and Carman Woody and John Jones, one sister; Martha Weeks, two brothers; Jim (Kathie) Landrum and Bobby (Mary) Landrum, grandchildren; David Pryor, Dennis Haney, Mark Haney, Shalinda Haney, Sadie Woody, Coy Woody, Amy Mills, Will Mills, Madison Jones, Levi Jones and Trevor Jones, great-grandchildren; Taylor, Brayland, Makala, Garrison, Brody, Brooklin, Dillan, Emmie, Andy, Tatiana, Natalia, Eric, Flynn, and Ascher. Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral service for Mr. Jackie Clay Woody will be conducted Monday, November 9, 2020 at 12:00 Noon at the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Mitch Phillips officiating. Following the service, Mr. Woodys wishes were to be cremated.
The family asked that floral tributes be omitted and contributions be made in Clays memory to "Georgia Masonic Childrens Home, P.O. Box 4183, Macon, Georgia 31208"

Due to the National health crisis and the COVID-19 virus, mask must be worn at all times and social distancing guidelines must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
