Jackie Purgason

Mrs. Jackie Hinson Purgason, age 52 of Calhoun, GA passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012. She was born in Nash County, NC on December 13, 1959, daughter of Heath Hinson and the late Doris Black.

Mrs. Purgason was a graduate of North Nash High School and the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. She had a career in business administration, previously serving on the board of Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and was involved in other community activities. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Lee Purgason, Jr.; a son, Austin Purgason of Banner Elk, NC; a daughter, Meri Kate Purgason of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Eric Hinson of Bowling Green, VA, Bennett Hinson of Benson, NC, Bryan Hinson of Charlotte, NC, Kenneth Hinson of Miami, FL, Ronald Hinson of Charlotte, and Alan Hinson of Riley, NC; a sister, Margaret Hinson of Raleigh, NC; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Jackie Hinson Purgason will be held Sunday, October 7th at 4:00pm from the Calhoun Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions are made to the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Calhoun.

The Purgason family will receive friends at the Calhoun Church of Christ Sunday from 2:00pm until the service hour of 4:00pm.
