Mr. Jackie Johnston Sullivan, 85, of Calhoun, Georgia, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, following several years of declining health.
He was born in Calhoun, Georgia on January 5, 1939, the son of the late Elbert and Elizabeth Hollaren Sullivan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Billy, and James Sullivan. He was a member of Calhoun First Baptist Church and previously was a founding charter member and deacon of Meadowdale Baptist Church. Prior to retirement he was employed by Mohawk Industries.
Survivors include his loving and dedicated wife of 66 years, Jackie N. Sullivan; two sons and daughters-in-law, Marc Sullivan and his wife Melissa and Marlin Sullivan and his wife Sherry; grandchildren, Jacob, Adam, Blake, and Will Sullivan, Sharika Kinsey; fifteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Stevie Sullivan; along with nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mr. Jackie Johnston Sullivan will be held Thursday, January 25th, at 3:00 PM from Calhoun First Baptist Church, with Dr. Steven Pearson and Dr. John Barber officiating. Angie Childers and Karli Rogers will arrange the music. Burial will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, with Dr. Garry Tate in charge of the graveside rites. Pallbearers serving will include Jacob, Will, Adam, Blake, Austin, and Logan Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of The Fountains, where Mr. Sullivan resided in the memory care center.
The family will receive friends Thursday between the hours of 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM at Calhoun First Baptist Church on Thursday, January 25, 2024.
The family would like to give special thanks to The Fountains staff for their love and care shown to Mr. Sullivan and his family.
