Mrs. Jackie Williams, age 80 of Calhoun, died Thursday, April 28, 2011 at her residence. She was a native of Gordon County, born on September 1, 1930, daughter of the late Rembert and Pauline Holmes Meadows. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Walt Williams; a son, Nathan Williams; two brothers, Sandy Meadows and Lance Meadows; a sister, Betty Hill; and a grandchild, Jeremy Hopkins.
Mrs. Williams was a member of the Sonoraville Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Dean of Fairfax, Virginia, and Eric Williams of Cartersville; a daughter, Janet Hopkins of Pittsburgh, California; a brother, Rex Meadows of Calhoun; and a sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Marvin McBee of Calhoun. Grandchildren surviving are Cary Dean and Galen Dean of Ellicott City, Maryland; and Nick Williams and Marissa Williams of Calhoun. Nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jackie Williams will be held Monday, May 2nd at 11:00am from the Sonoraville Baptist Church, with Rev. Steve Skates officiating. Interment will follow in the Chandler Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include the deacons of Sonoraville Baptist Church, and honorary pallbearers will be members of Mrs. William's Sunday School class.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Sunday from 4:00pm until 7:00pm.
