James Howard Cloer, 81, of Resaca, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024. He was born in Whitfield County, Georgia, on December 17, 1943, to the late Dawson Allen Cloer and Irene Holland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jesse “Dobber” Wheat.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia Dianne Cloer; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark (Ginny) Cloer, Eddie (Kim) Cloer; daughters and son-in-law, Amy (Sonny) Fox, Melynda Webster; sister, Betty Wheat; grandchildren, Jake (Rheanna) Cloer, Ryan (Brea) Cloer, Timmy (Shelby) Cloer, Kailey Cloer, Layla, Kayla (Matt), Lindsey, Luke, Eli, Hub, and Sara Fox, Bailey Cloer, Noah (Halley) Cloer, Matthew Cloer, Autumn Silvers, Anthony Silvers; 9 great-grandchildren; special nieces and nephews also survive.
James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle. He loved attending Whitfield Baptist Church and was part of the bus ministry for many years. He enjoyed working on and driving his classic cars. He was one of a kind and will be dearly missed.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Cofield and Rev. Harold Blackstock officiating. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Jake Cloer, Ryan Cloer, Timmy Cloer, Luke Fox, Eli Fox, and Matt Fox. Honorary pallbearers are Scott Wheat, Randy Wheat, and Wesley McMorris.
